Tréhant Joinery Pergolas & carports

The company

Four generations of joiners, all sharing the same commitment to craftsmanship

From Élie Tréhant’s workshop in 1945 to the business now run by Marie and Olivier, the craft has been passed down without ever losing its essence: understanding a need and fulfilling it to the highest standard.

Our history

From 1945 to the present day

  1. 1945

On his return from Germany, where he had been a prisoner of war, Élie Tréhant set himself up as a joiner. He helped rebuild the country, making tools for agriculture, before expanding into joinery and carpentry.

  2. 1964

Bernard, Élie’s son, took over the business. He focused on exterior joinery and interior fit-outs, and in turn passed on his passion for wood to his son Olivier, who joined the business in 2004.

  3. 2008

Olivier Tréhant took over the business. He refocused the business on interior fit-outs and exterior joinery; at the historic premises, the machinery was updated and expanded.

  4. 2019

Marie Tréhant joined the company, bringing with her over twelve years’ experience in the marketing and installation of external joinery. She developed the pergola, conservatory and carport ranges.

  5. 2020

Marie and Olivier join forces to set up Menuiserie Tréhant. Working as a couple opens up new opportunities for growth.

  6. 2021

To address the shortage of space, a 500 m² building was acquired in Vellevans. Fitted with shelving units and cantilever racks, it enables the pergolas and all materials to be stored under suitable conditions.

  7. 2022

Takeover of Menuiserie Joly-Vieillard in Belleherbe. The company then had eight employees; the premises were refurbished, and a draughtswoman’s post was created in 2023.

  8. 2024

Takeover of the Ducrot joinery business in Pugey. Specialising in exterior timber joinery, Mr Ducrot had developed a traditional ‘mouton gueule-de-loup’ window with seals and double glazing, which is ideally suited to period buildings. Combining quality, modern performance and heritage: this is in the company’s DNA.

  • Define, manufacture, produce

    01 Our missions

    Define, manufacture, produce

Taking the time to help you identify your requirements. Manufacturing or sourcing the product that meets your expectations. Carrying out your project on schedule whilst liaising with the various parties involved on site.

  • Constantly evolving to provide the best service

    02 Our vision

Constantly evolving to provide the best service

Growth on a human scale, providing high-performance tools to a dynamic and close-knit team in a family-like atmosphere. Nine employees, three workshops, a modernised machine fleet: growth serves the business, never the other way round.

Our values

The client, their needs, their project

Three principles displayed throughout the company, and five commitments derived from them, featured on every pergola and every carport.

  • The customer comes first

The customer, their needs, their project. This is our first principle, and it dictates everything else: the range on offer, the dimensions, the options — and sometimes the advice to do nothing at all.

  • Made in France

Made in France, and in Franche-Comté where possible. We give preference to French and regional manufacturers whenever a supplier is able to provide the goods.

  • Exigency in the gesture

The quality of our workmanship and the attention to detail we bring to every task. That is what distinguishes a pergola that has simply been installed from one that has been installed properly – and this only becomes apparent with use.

  • Deadlines met

To complete your project on schedule, whilst coordinating with the other trades on site. A promise made is a promise kept.

  • The family spirit

A business on a human scale, a close-knit team and a manager you’ll bump into on site. It’s been run this way for four generations.

Our premises

Three workshops in the Doubs

Vellevans, 39 Grande Rue: the 500 m² building acquired in 2021, fitted with shelving units and cantilever racks, where the pergolas and all materials are stored. Belleherbe, 3 rue de la Combe: the workshop taken over in 2022, which has since been refurbished. Pugey, 15 rue de l’Église: the joinery workshop taken over in 2024.

We operate in the Doubs, the Territoire de Belfort, the Haute-Saône and the Jura. You are welcome to visit our workshop: it is often the best way to understand what sets two pergolas apart, even when they look similar in photographs.

Travail professionnel en équipe et efficace. Un grand merci. Fini les parasols qui tombent au moindre coup de vent. Nous avons pu profiter de la pergola même en temps de pluie. C'est un très bon produit. Nous recommandons la menuiserie TREHANT
  • claire irles pourcelot (psychologue clinicienne)
